The Scarlet Coder

Last Updated: June 19, 2026 Effective Date: June 19, 2026

Who we are

The Scarlet Coder (“we,” “us,” “our”) is an independent software developer based in Washington State, United States. This policy explains how we handle information across our website at thescarletcoder.com and our games (collectively, the “Services”).

We build small, honest games. We collect as little as possible and do not sell your information.

Summary

  • We don’t require an account to use our games or website.
  • Our games store data locally on your device and do not transmit it to us.
  • We don’t run ads. We don’t sell your information.
  • If you email us, we keep that correspondence to reply.

1. Information we collect

Our website (thescarletcoder.com)

  • Contact information you provide voluntarily — if you email us, we receive your email address and the contents of your message.
  • Basic server logs standard to web hosting (IP address, browser type). We do not currently run third-party analytics.

Our mobile games

Just Sudoku has no network permission and transmits no data whatsoever. All game progress (puzzles solved, times, streaks, settings) is stored locally on your device only. Nothing leaves your phone.

Future games may have different data practices. If so, this policy will be updated before those games ship.

2. How we use information

  • To operate and maintain the Services.
  • To respond to your messages and support requests.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

3. Third-party services

Our website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Downloads of our Android games are provided through Google Play. These providers operate under their own privacy policies. We do not run advertising networks or third-party analytics.

4. Children’s privacy

Just Sudoku is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. Because Just Sudoku transmits no data at all, there is no server-side collection regardless of age.

If you believe a child under 13 has used one of our products in a way that has resulted in data collection, contact us at info@thescarletcoder.com.

5. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only when required by law, to protect our rights or safety, or in connection with a transfer of the brand or business (with notice where required).

6. Data retention

We keep email correspondence only as long as needed. You can ask us to delete it — see Contact below.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA, UK, or California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of personal information about you. To make a request, email info@thescarletcoder.com.

8. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

9. International users

We are based in the United States. Because our games store data locally on your device and do not transmit it to us, we do not perform international transfers of your personal data. Website hosting via Cloudflare may involve servers in various locations.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be noted on this page.
